“Sketch for Plan B”
22×30 inches on paper / watercolor, graphite, ink, color pencil, paint pen / created in 2010 / Miami studio.
This work on paper is a large format drawing. In this composition the main subject matter is a skull that was inspired by Brazilian graffiti. The skull has a wrapping of a Caesar’s Laurel Leaf Crown, representing the potential genius or folly of the originator of “Plan B”. Over the head of the skull is a diamond. The diamond presents the positive potential outcome of the plan; it also represents the absurd in the Arts. (A reference to Damien Hirst’s work “For the love of God”). The skull and diamond are intertwined representing the opposing possible outcomes of “Plan B”. This piece served as a sketch/study for the painting entitled “Plan B”.
